The digital divide in a next generation broadband world

Question: do you think the digital divide will get worse or better if superfast broadband is rolled out in the UK? This is a question that was central for many of the attendees at our recent conference. There has also been a lot in the news on this over the past few weeks, with the publication of Ofcom's Nations and Regions 2008 Report, thinkbroadband.com's average speed research, and the BBC's accompanying Broadband Britain tour. The digital divide has been a key issue for the BSG over the years, and it remains so. So what do our two reports say about this? Well, the first point to make is about the divides that exist over current broadband.
