Access all areas - what role has mobile broadband to play in the NGA debate?

The Convergence Conversation returned on Thursday 25 September at the offices of Olswang solicitors, for the second event in a new series .

What was the topic of the conversation?

Mobile broadband is having an enormous effect on how people get access to the internet. Costs are falling and access is becoming ubiquitous. Consumers no longer have to hunt for a wifi, in fact very often its free. In a world where mobile operators have launched an unlimited use mobile broadband service at £ 15 per month which offers better speeds than many fixed line connections, the question of how Next Generation Access will be realised is again, up for debate.

Who was talking?

The conversation was chaired by:

• Philip Sheldrake, Racepoint Group UK Ltd and previously an elected Main Board Member of Intellect.  Philip began with an expert's take on the market before opening out the debate.
