Convergence Conversation event at Ingenious Media - 30th October

‘How will technology companies fare in an economic downturn?’.

The Convergence Conversation took place last Thursday, 30^th October, at the offices of Ingenious Media, for the third event in a new series - and the last for 2008.

What was the topic at that conversation?

The Press have reported in numbers the recent news of major technology companies share prices falling. In the face of this bad news little has been done to ascertain why this has occurred, or to understand how technology companies will fare in a wider economic downturn. Step up Convergence Conversations. The conversation attempted to comprehend whether this drop in share prices is a structural shift or a cyclical change.

The event on the 30^th of October worked to understand how consumer confidence could affect sales and what the result of non-investment will be in the medium to long term future. Could the economic crisis even result in companies struggling to innovate and bring new products to market?
