Convergence Conversation Event, 29 October 2009
‘The Connected Home: Taming the Beast’

With ever-increasing digital connectivity & intelligence in and around the home, the time is right to examine the key trends and influences within the Connected Home proposition. At this next Convergence Conversation we’ll consider whether the augmented convergence of digital devices and investment within home entertainment & technology is ripe to explode into a Connected Home revolution.

The evolution towards a more personalized digital world has blurred the lines between devices and services. In turn this has fermented smart-home technology to move data and content beyond the living room, freeing consumers to access services whenever and wherever they desire. Furthermore with huge investments in both smart metering & telehealth on the horizon, it’s critical to understand whether we are at the tipping point of a new and exciting mass market proposition of advanced reciprocity, discovery and access, or still pinned back by the noted barriers of interoperability, connectivity and maintenance.

Are we on the threshold of a connected home revolution, or is the beast still to be tamed?

Do come along after work and join us at this Convergence Conversation to listen, learn, contribute and network.
